Presentations Evaluation Toolkit Dissertations U.S. Department of Education Salary Survey National TRIO COVID-19 Study

We are pleased to share that the Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education has begun a national TRIO COVID-19 study. COVID-19 has impacted nearly every aspect of TRIO service, from program management to student engagement. However, the degree and implications of this impact on a national level are not well known.

This study aims to examine (1) how the COVID-19 pandemic has uniquely affected TRIO participants, staff, and programing and (2) how the COVID-19 pandemic may affect the future TRIO programs and services.
This study will consist of three components:

  • National surveys of TRIO staff and students
  • Focus groups with TRIO participants, staff, and stakeholders
  • Analyses of COVID-19 related datasets

The Pell Institute will begin launching surveys this July 2021 to Talent Search and Upward Bound staff and students. A second round of surveys for EOC, SSS and McNair staff and students will be launched late September/Early October 2021. Upon colleting surveys results, focus groups will take place in spring 2022. Participation is completely voluntary, but we encourage the TRIO community to complete the surveys.

If you are a TRIO staff member or student and want to complete a survey to share your COVID-19 experience, please see below.
